I came across this interesting story through Google alerts about Mc Donalds helping Beach Buddies, with beach-cleanups.
Beach Buddies does their beach cleaning work around the Isle of Man. McDonald’s is offering free drinks vouchers to all members of Beach
Buddies, the community-led volunteer program that has helped to
transform beaches around the island.Moreover, employees of their outlet in Douglas have also joined this pursuit. The founder of Beach Buddies, Bill Dale said that it is true that a significant amount of trash they pick up is fast-food containers, he also said that majority of it does not have any logos or labels.He continued: "McDonald’s recognize that this is a problem, and they
want to encourage their customers, and everyone else who uses fast food
outlets, to be more responsible.We are working on a joint project to raise awareness about the damage
that can be caused to the environment and wildlife by litter."
